Lettuce Wrap Tacos

  • 0.6 kg. lean ground beef mince

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 Tbsp. taco seasoning, (or make your own: 2 tsp. chilli power, 1 1/2 tsp. paprika, 1 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp. each of garlic powder, cumin and dried oregano)

  • 1 large tomato, diced

  • 1 avocado, diced

  • Romaine or cos lettuce leaves, for serving

  • Coconut oil

  • Salt and pepper


  1. Add some coconut oil to a pan that has been preheated to medium-high heat.

  2. Add half the onion and cook for about 5 minutes.

  3. Add the beef and taco seasoning; season to taste.

  4. When the beef is cooked, prepare the individual tacos by distributing the meat equally on 8 lettuce leaves. Top with the remaining onion, tomato, and avocado.
